Malakoff acquires biogas power project from SEDA
MALAKOFF Corp Bhd via its 60%-owned indirect subsidiary, Southern Biogas Sdn Bhd, received the feed-in tariff approval from the government to undertake the development of 2.4MW biogas power plant in Ulu Sebol, Johor. In a Bursa filing yesterday, the group said the bid was received yesterday through the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA). Previously, Southern Biogas had participated in a competitive e-bidding exercise for the project and submitted its bid to SEDA on June 5.
GHL Systems’ net profit up66%in3Q
PAYMENT systems provider GHL Systems Bhd posted a 66% jump in net profit to RM12.14 million for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2020 (3Q20), compared to RM7.34 million a year ago. In a Bursa filing yesterday, the group said its quarterly revenue was up 5% to RM91.84 million, underpinned by the transaction payment acquisition division, but its other two business pillars also showed improvements quarter-on-quarter. Earnings per share for the quarter also rose 1.60 sen against 0.98 sen recorded previously. The group added that as the movement restrictions were eased in much of Asean in stages, 3Q20 reflected much of the recovery in consumer spending.
SKP Resources posts better 2Q earnings
SKP Resources Bhd posted a net profit of RM44.07 million, up 77% year-on-year (YoY) for its second quarter ended Sept 30, 2020 (2Q20), compared to RM24.91 million a year ago. In a Bursa filing yesterday, the electronics manufacturing services provider said the higher profit was largely attributable to higher revenue and different products mix, as well as improvement in operational efficiencies and cost control. The company’s quarterly revenue also surged 49% YoY to RM726.31 million on the back of strong demand from its existing key customers. Earnings per share for the quarter rose 3.53 sen from 1.99 sen in the same period last year.

Adlan brings over 17 years of experience in the telecommunications field including serving as CFO and pirector of PT XL Axiata Tbk in Indonesia and chief corporate officer at Celcom Axiata Bhd.
