EMCO in Top Glove workers’ dorm in Klang

THE Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be implemented at the Top Glove Corp Bhd workers’ dormitory in Klang, Selangor effective midnight tonight, Nov 17 – 30. 
 
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said as of Nov 15, the positive Covid-19 cases in the area is 215. 
 
He said the EMCO will cover Top Glove’s male dormitory as well as Jalan Abadi 1A/KU8 and female dormitory as well as Jalan Abadi 1A and Jalan Abadi 10A/KU8, involving 13,190 workers and nearly 1,200 residents.

Earlier this month, Top Glove said only 17 of its employees, or less than 0.1% of the group’s total workforce of 21,000 people, tested positive for Covid-19 since January 2020.

In a statement, the glove maker said the affected employees were asymptomatic and most of them did not have a fever.
 
The group added they were isolated following a swab test taken on Monday and admitted to the hospital for treatment after their results came back positive.
