Malaysia records highest Covid-19 cases at 1,228

MALAYSIA records 1,228 cases of Covid-19 cases today, the highest since the pandemic outbreak in the country.

To date, there are 25,742 cases, with 8,966 active cases recorded as of noon.

Out of the 1,228 cases, only 11 were imported.

671 recoveries were also reported, bringing the total number to 16,555 or 64.3% of total cases.

There are also seven new deaths, which brings the total number of fatalities to 221 or 0.86% of total cases.

According to Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, Sabah remains having the highest number of people tested positive for the virus at 889  with 502 cases are from Kepayan Prison.

This is followed by Negri Sembilan with 96 cases,  Selangor and Kedah both with 76 cases, Penang (23) Labuan (21) Perak (10) Sarawak (8) Kuala Lumpur (8) Johor (7) and Melaka (3).
