PNB’s annual Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia goes virtual

PERMODALAN Nasional Bhd (PNB) will be hosting its first-ever “Minggu Saham Amanah” digitally from Nov 18-24 through Facebook and Youtube this year.

Minggu Saham Amanah is an annual face-to-face in-person platform for the public to acquaint themselves with the institution and its investee companies.

Also dubbed as Minggu Saham Digital, the seven-day livestream digital event will be broadcasted daily between 12.30pm and 10.30pm, as a way for PNB’s unit holders to get a better picture of their investments’ contribution to the nation’s economy.

PNB group chairman Tan Sri Dr Zeti Aziz said the institution has established the event as a much-awaited annual event with family-friendly and educational activities for two decades.

“Minggu Saham Digital is a testament as to how PNB is constantly evolving and embracing new and interesting ways of engaging with our valued unit holders and with Malaysians at large, in our aim to strengthen financial literacy through easily navigable digital platforms,” she said in a statement yesterday.

She added that the digital event represents an important step towards PNB’s broader organisational transformation journey.

“By taking our flagship event online, Malaysians of all ages and different walks of life can enjoy exciting content from the comfort of their own homes or anywhere they may be as everything now can be at their fingertips,” she said.

Over the seven days, Malaysians will get to experience various types of content including educational forums and webinar series, which comprise entertaining segments like a virtual content.

Via the digital livestream, participants can also take part in game shows, cooking shows, science experiments, a virtual treasure hunt and a face mask design competition.

Winners will walk away with prizes worth over RM500,000 including a Ford Ranger 2.0L XLT 4WD (10AT), a Toyota Vios 1.5G (AT), a Perodua Aruz 1.5AV (AT), a Honda CBR250, eight Honda Dash 125S and Lazada e-vouchers worth over RM180,000.

Corporate partners for the institution’s event consist of three tiers, where the Rakan Premier category includes Malayan Banking Bhd, Sime Darby Plantation Bhd and UMW Holdings Bhd.

This is followed by the Rakan Utama category where Sime Darby Bhd, Sime Darby Property Bhd, SP Setia Bhd, MIDF Bhd and Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd stand.

The Rakan category is held by MNRB Holdings Bhd, CCM Bhd, Duopharma Biotech Bhd, Valesto Energy Bhd, Sapura Energy Bhd and Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd.
