ALL facility operators, event organisers and sports enthusiasts are reminded to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) on sports and recreational activities set by the National Security Council following the recent increase in Covid-19 cases in the country.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said it is so that all parties can participate in sports in a safe and pandemic-free environment.
He also suggested that those in the districts placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), namely Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan in Sabah, to cancel all sports and recreational activities and events during the CMCO period.
“This is in line with the announcement made by Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on the CMCO in the three districts which took effect from yesterday, where all sports, recreational, social and cultural activities are currently prohibited.
“During this difficult situation, especially in Sabah, we need to remind and take care of each other. We all pray that the situation there will return to normal immediately,” he said in a posting on his Facebook page yesterday. — Bernama
