KOTA KINABALU – Sabah PKR chief Datuk Christina Liew retained the Api-Api seat with an enhanced majority of 5,347 votes in the 16th Sabah state election today.
According to the Election Commission, Liew polled 7,796 votes to beat eight other contenders, including nearest rival Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai of PBS who obtained 2,449 votes.
In the 2018 general election, Liew won the seat with a 2,954-vote majority in a five-cornered fight.
Apart from Api-Api, PKR also contested in six other seats – Matunggong, Tempasuk, Tamparuli, Inanam, Klias and Sook – but it is the only seat won by the party at the time of writing.
