A COMFORTABLE 2-0 victory over Petaling Jaya City FC (PJ City) in the Super League match at the PJ City Council Stadium, Selangor, on Saturday has Terengganu FC all pumped up for their next match.
Terengganu FC head coach Mohd Nafuzi Mohd Zain said he was proud of the great performance displayed by his charges including import striker-Dominique Da Slyva who scored both goals in the match, although they had not played in a competitive match for almost five months due to pandemic shutdown.
The former national player, however, did not want his players to be complacent with the victory and want them to continue to improve on their weaknesses in the coming matches.
“Although we had won, there are some improvements that we need to make because PJ City put a lot of pressure on my players during the match.
“Maybe we do not have enough support in certain positions and the movement of our players was also slow due to almost five months of not playing competitively. There are many areas we need to improve, especially in terms of fitness,” he told reporters after the match.
Meanwhile, PJ City head coach K Devan admitted that a mistake on the part of the defence had brought the team down despite dominating the first half of the match.
Da Slyva emerged as Terengganu FC’s hero after scoring both goals in the 31st and 73rd minutes, helping the team climb up six places to third place in the Super League standings with seven points from four matches.
PJ City, however, remains in 10th place out of 12 teams, with four points from four matches. — Bernama
