IN THE spirit of the national month, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) commemorated its annual National Day celebration as per the “new normal”, with physical distancing and wearing of face masks.
The water utility company also launched its first-ever National Day video, titled “Semeja Semula”, which aims to rekindle the patriotic spirit among its employees, especially as the country battles the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Air Selangor CEO Suhaimi Kamaralzaman said the video coincides with the 2020 National Day theme, “Malaysia Prihatin”, as this year’s celebration is different for most communities.
“Through the video, we at Air Selangor want to focus on the values of thoughtfulness, togetherness and resilience which are important to strengthen the unity among us, especially when faced with difficult situations like Covid-19 at the moment,” he said in a statement recently.
The video featured life situations in the new norm where three old close friends had to part temporarily following the implementation of the Movement Control Order.
It can be viewed on Air Selangor’s social media sites, namely Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
The celebration commenced with the singing of “Negaraku” and the utterance of the pledge of Rukun Negara, in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Rukun Negara.
In line with the “Malaysia Prihatin” theme, Air Selangor also decorated 10 of its water tanker trucks with designs that symbolise famous Malaysian icons, such as the Rafflesia flower, the Petronas Twin Towers, and star and crescent symbols with the slogan “Always Ready for Malaysia”.
The effort is a display of the company’s commitment to continue providing the best experience to consumers.
The celebration continued with the release of the National Day edition of water tankers to all Air Selangor regional offices in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya to enliven the festivities.
Each water tanker truck carries the Malaysian flag which will be distributed to employees at the regional office.
