Sivagangga cluster record 12 new cases

Twenty-five new Covid-19 cases were recorded today, with 16 locally transmitted and nine imported. 

Out of the 16 new local cases, 12 are from the PUI Sivagangga cluster, found to be in Kedah, Perlis and Penang.

Perlis marks the highest number with 10 new cases, followed by Perak with two while Kedah, Johor, Penang and Kuala Lumpur recorded one case each.

For the import cases, Sabah marks the highest with four cases, while both Selangor and Kuala Lumpur marked two cases each with Sarawak noting only one case.

These have given rise to the number of active cases to 210 and the nation’s total cumulative number of cases at 9,063.

Out of the currently active cases, two patients have been placed in the intensive care unit, with one patient requiring the use of the ventilator.

Meanwhile, 15 patients have been treated and discharged from their respective health institutions today, bringing the total number of recovered patients up to 8,728.
