SIME Darby Property Bhd netted total sales of some RM680 million from 740 bookings through its online campaigns which were held between March 25 and July 5, 2020, for properties within Greater Klang Valley and Johor.

The sales reflected the property developer’s manoeuvring of online sales tactics and strategies despite the closure or half-capacity operations of its sales galleries during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

“Purchasers were mainly from the Klang Valley and its surrounding areas, and not to mention some China purchasers.

“Sime Darby Property’s website traffic was consistently high throughout the campaigns, averaging more than twice the usual volume,” the group said in a statement last Friday.

The online campaigns have allowed homebuyers to own prime properties with great convenience, and are proof that the firm can embrace digitalisation and adapt to the changing operating landscape, Sime Darby Property group MD Datuk Azmir Merican said.

“Future property launches will also benefit from the utilisation of online portals, which is now part of the digital transformation initiative aimed at revolutionising the company’s property buying process,” he added.

The group’s maiden online campaign, the “Online Guided Sales Experience”, provided potential homebuyers with an end-to-end virtual sales experience from prospecting to booking collection via digital means.

It was furnished with curated online sales kits to provide potential homebuyers with necessary product information, virtual 360° product tours for more enhanced viewing and online booking and payment.

Two other campaigns were launched to introduce more deals for selected projects, riding on the government’s six-month moratorium on loan repayments.

“‘The Special Deals and Your Instalments on Us’ campaigns brought great returns to the company throughout their respective periods,” Sime Darby Property said.

Six products featured in the “Your Instalments on Us” campaign, including Laman Lakeside in Bandar Bukit Raja, Elmina Valley 2 in City of Elmina and Redup in Bandar Ainsdale, Negri Sembilan, were sold out during the campaign period.

The group also reintroduced its “Spotlight 8” campaign last Saturday (July 18), featuring new launches and “Superdeals” at different locations every weekend until Sept 27, 2020.

The campaign will kick off with the launch of Elmina Green 3, a landed and freehold investment.

Last year’s “Spotlight 8” campaign sold a total of 1,160 units within Bandar Bukit Raja, City of Elmina, Kuala Lumpur East, Subang Jaya, Serenia City, Putra Heights, Kajang and Negri Sembilan, achieving over RM1.1 billion in sales.
