THE application under the Employment Recruitment Incentives Programme (PenjanaKerjaya) handled by Social Security Organisation is available as of yesterday, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M Saravanan said.

The incentive programme was announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin under the short-term National Economic Recovery Plan (Penjana) on June 5, offering financial incentives of between RM600 and RM1,000 to employers for each employee or apprentice employed for up to six months.

Saravanan said the registration of profiles for employers and jobseekers under PenjanaKerjaya had begun on June 15.

From June 15-30, the MYFutureJobs portal recorded a daily average of 3,088 new registrations for jobseekers and 2,692 job vacancies posted.

This brings together a total of more than 113,300 jobseekers and nearly 95,400 active job vacancies recorded by MYFutureJobs.

The minister urged employers with job vacancies to use the government-provided platform to obtain incentives for hiring local workers.

He said these hiring incentives include financial assistance for employers who employ school leavers, graduates, unemployed, retired workers and apprentices.

“Under the MYApprentice scheme, employers are entitled to an incentive of RM600 per person if they hire an apprentice.

“Employers employing under-40s will receive an incentive of RM800 per worker under the HireMalaysia scheme,” he said in a statement.

Those who hire the unemployed aged 40 to 60 years old or people with disability are eligible for an incentive of RM1,000 per worker.

All these incentives will be given for six months to eligible employers. This government initiative aims to increase job creation and reduce unemployment.

In addition to hiring incentives, employers also benefit from skilled workers if hiring is done through PenjanaKerjaya as these employees can be sent for skills training and skills development.

Among the courses provided are Industrial Revolution 4.0, cloud computing, cyber security, machine learning, logistics, manufacturing, construction, hospitality, and sales and marketing. More courses will be offered by this programme over time.

For jobseekers who have to move to accept a job offer under PenjanaKerjaya, they will be given a mobility assistance of between RM600 and RM1,000.
