THE number of flood evacuees in Johor continues to drop with only 475 people from 115 families were recorded still taking shelter at flood relief centres (PPS) as at 8 am today compared to 575 people from 143 families recorded last night.

State Health and Environment Committee chairman R.Vidyananthan said this followed the closure of two PPS at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Penerok in Pontian, and SK Tiga Serangkai in Batu Pahat, yesterday.

“Muar still has the highest number of evacuees at 197 from 53 families, followed by Batu Pahat with 158 people from 34 families and Pontian with 120 people from 28 families,” he said in a statement here today.

Nine PPS are still operational in the three districts, he added.
