Goodyear introduces ‘zero contact’ for autocare centres

GOODYEAR Malaysia Bhd has introduced a zero contact Initiative (ZeroContact) to ensure safety for consumers and staff amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Customers can get new tyres fitted at any participating Goodyear Autocare centre without any direct person-to-person contact throughout the entire process.

MD Alex Ng said as the company will embark on a “new normal” era in handling customer needs.

“The assurance of Goodyear’s Zero Contact process, from the moment you drop off your vehicle, and up until you collect it, there will be zero direct physical contact between staff and customers to minimise risk of any potential spread,” he said in a statement.

The programme has already been introduced in the US, Australia and other Asean countries.

Customers need to make an appointment to use the service. At the centre, the customer will use a zero contact parking area and put car keys in a drop box and staff will take care of the rest without physical interaction with them.

Twelve touch points on their cars will also be disinfected before handing over after service.

These are complimentary services provided by Goodyear for their customers to ensure their cars are safe to be driven once again, especially for those who have left their cars untouched for a long time due to the Movement Control Order.

The company said precautionary measures will also be enforced at all Goodyear Autocare centres including sanitising and disinfecting all public areas, facilities, as well as tools three times a day and customers are encouraged to use cashless payment methods.

Ng said the company hopes to see the support and cooperation from its customers and partners to practise good hygiene and preventative measures throughout this period.
