COVID-19: Saudi Arabia continues extension of aid to its citizens in Malaysia

THE Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Malaysia continues to aid the Saudi citizens in Malaysia during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO) which has been extended till April 28.

Saudi ambassador to Malaysia Datuk Dr Mahmoud Hussien Saeed Qattan (picture) said the embassy have put  stranded individuals – unable to leave due to the suspension of flights between Saudi and Malaysia – at hotels, and provided all necessities including food.

“The stranded Saudi citizens are committed to staying safe…we always advise them to follow orders and containment measures like social distancing and staying home till the pandemic is over,” he said when contacted by Bernama, today.

Meanwhile, Qattan said some 219 Saudi nationals departed on April 11 via Saudi Airlines, which arrived from Riyadh with 80 Malaysians evacuated from Saudi.

The ambassador praised the cooperation between the Malaysian government and the embassy in ensuring the smooth execution of such matter.
