LEMBAGA Tabung Haji (TH) has appointed Rozita Khamsiah Othman as its board secretary effective March 9, 2020, and Ahmad Shahriman Johari as public affairs and corporate communications GM on April 1, 2020, respectively.
“TH welcomes these appointments in its quest to become a respected Islamic institution for its achievements and good governance,” group MD and CEO Datuk Nik Mohd Hasyudeen Yusoff said in a statement yesterday.
He added that the presence of Rozita Khamsiah and Ahmad Shahriman with extensive experience and expertise in their respective fields will strengthen the fund with professional leadership.
Rozita Khamsiah has considerable experience as an internal legal advisor and licensed company secretary from a variety of industries including government financial institutions, construction and property development.
Prior to joining TH, she served as senior VP at Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd and was in charge of corporate law management including leading, managing and overseeing the delivery of legal advisory services.
This includes the board and its members in the areas of litigation, legal administration and legal services for risk management.
According to TH, she has also served with Malaysia Debt Ventures Bhd, KUB Malaysia Bhd and Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Shahriman was previously the head of corporate communications at Sime Darby Property Bhd where he was in charge of managing the company’s public relations and communications affairs.
The English Literature degree holder from Canada’s Acadia University has extensive experience in media relations and had occupied the position of senior editor at the New Straits Times.
TH said the two new appointments are in line with the pilgrimage fund’s efforts to strengthen its organisational leadership.
