THE Finance Ministry (MoF) yesterday announced the appointment of new Khazanah Nasional Bhd board members.
The appointments are Prime Minister (PM) Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (picture) as the chairman, while Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz and Datuk Mohammed Azlan Hashim are the new board members. Their appointments took effect yesterday.
Mohammed Azlan was among the nine board members that had resigned en masse in 2018, including its then MD Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar.
In a statement yesterday, Khazanah said it looks forward to working with the newly-reconstituted board in delivering its mandate as Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund.
Khazanah also announced that former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has stepped down as chairman and member of the board, effective March 25.
