THE Melaka government today received more than RM1.25 million in cash and goods from several corporate companies for the State COVID-19 Fund.
A statement issued by the Melaka Chief Minister’s Office, said the amount included RM1 million from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for purchase of various supplies and goods required by the Melaka Hospital and the State Health Department.
Of the RM 1 million contributed by TNB, RM860,000 will be spent for purchase of face mask, gloves, hand sanitizer and plastic apron, while the remaining RM140,000 will be spent for purchase of two units of portable ventilator for Melaka Hospital, it said.
The contribution today included RM250,000 in cash and goods from Mamee Double Decker, RM10,000 worth of biscuits by Julie’s Marketing Sdn Bhd and 25,000 pieces of face mask from Syntax Valley Sdn Bhd.
