MELAKA  — Eighteen people from five families in Alor Gajah near here, have been evacuated until 8 am today due to floods, said Alor Gajah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat Captain (PA) Aljibin Suddin.

He said 13 of them, comprising three families, were accommodated at Balai Raya Bukit Balai, while the other five victims (two families) were provided temporary shelter at the Balai Raya Bukit Tambun.

The flood is believed caused by heavy rain, since 4 pm yesterday, he said in a statement today.
