Trains and buses operated by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) will operate as usual during the nationwide 14-day Movement Control Order.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday announced the move as a measure against the spreading of the novel coronavirus, Covid-19.
In a statement today, Prasarana said LRT Kelana Jaya line and Ampang/Sri Petaling line; MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang line, Monorel line, BRT Sunway line and bus services from Rapid KL, Rapid Penang, Rapid Kuantan, Rapid Kamunting and Rapid Manjung will operate as usual.
Infrastructure Group (Operations) COO Muhammad Nizam Alias said: “Since the Movement Control Order is declared for the first time, we must ensure that the frequency is accurate because we are still unsure regarding the number of commuters throughout the containment duration.”
He added that discussions with the Transportation Ministry are underway especially with the Land and Public Transport Agency before any decisions are made regarding the frequency of the trains and bus routes.
Pasar Seni Bus Hub Concession Registration Counter will operate as usual for the convenience of the disabled, students and senior citizens to which they will receive a 50% discount for their journey.
