MOTOSIKAL dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas) recently announced a more than 10% reduction in prices for the Pulsar RS200 and Dominar D400.
The reduction, which came into effect on March 8, sees the price of the Pulsar RS200 reduced by 12% or RM1,360 to RM9,990. Meanwhile, the Dominar D400 is priced at RM13,788, which is RM1,700 or 11% lower.
Modenas CEO Roslan Roskan attributed the price change to the reduction in manufacturing cost of both models.
“Through improvements in our production process, we have managed to significantly bring down the manufacturing costs for the Pulsar RS200 and Dominar D400 models. Modenas is passing this cost savings to all two-wheel enthusiasts to make these two popular models much more affordable in Malaysia,” he said in a statement.
The Pulsar RS200 is a fully faired motorcycle, while the Dominar D400 is a sport-tourer.
Both models are fitted with an in-line single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC (single overhead camshaft) and fuel-injected DTS-i (digital twin spark ignition) engines.
The bikes are also equipped with By Brembo front single-channel anti-lock braking system mated to a six-speed four-stroke gearbox.
Both the Pulsar RS200 and Dominar D400 are packed with an array of premium hardware such as a strong and light steel-pressed perimeter steel frame, and a uniquely placed underbelly exhaust to provide extra stability and better control of the bikes when cornering.
Apart from the price reduction, Modenas is planning to boost its sales by expanding its product portfolio and its reach through the opening of new dealerships.
Modenas is planning to introduce five to eight new models of bikes and variants to the Malaysian market in the current calendar year.
