The BR-V has been a popular addition to those with families for its SUV-style design, versatility and as an all-rounder crossover

THE all-new Honda Bold Runabout Vehicle (BR-V) with a full seven- seater crossover, facelift and upgrades is now open for booking at all Honda Malaysia dealerships nationwide.

It is set to be launched in Malaysia within the first quarter of 2020. Since its introduction in 2017, the BR-V has been a popular addition to buyers with families for its SUVstyle design, versatility and as an all-rounder crossover.

Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd MD and CEO Toichi Ishiyama said Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co Ltd (HRAP) exclusively designed the BR-V for the Asean market.

“It is also the first HRAP model in Malaysia. The BR-V is set to cater to the increasing market demand for a seven-seater car that is spacious and versatile at the same time.

“Since its launch, over 36,000 units of BR-V were sold in the country as of January 2020. This encouraging result was translated into a 45% market share in 2019, which helped the BR-V maintain its position as the segment leader,” he added.

He also said to continue offering high-quality products and meet customers’ expectations, Honda Malaysia conducted a market study and collected customer feedback that can help understand them better.

The exterior of the new BR-V is upgraded with a fresher and more stylish appearance, while maintaining its bold and attractive traits.

The front design of new BR-V has an improved bumper coupled with new front grille, new lower bumper garnish and new front fog light garnish.

It also comes with a new rear lower bumper garnish, new shark fin antenna and a new 16-inch alloy wheel design.

Adding to the new features is the keyless entry push-start button which is now the standard feature for all variants.

The upgraded BR-V is powered by a 1.5L SOHC i-VTEC engine, generating a maximum power output of 120PS and maximum torque of 145Nm, which is the highest in its segment.

Honda Malaysia believes that customers with families will benefit from the design which gives more space for passengers and goods of various sizes.

The third-row seats are adjustable with a 50:50 tilt that can lie flat and fully tumble to maximise the boot space. It is perfect for family trips.

The new BR-V will also have a new leather seat with added red accent which provides a sporty and comfortable experience for both driver and passengers.
