FOLLOWING the success of the previous three campaigns, Grab Malaysia and the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Malaysia are joining forces again to raise funds to purchase a new dialysis machine.

This machine will provide NKF’s underprivileged kidney failure patients with a higher quality of life.

The pre-established collaboration between NKF and Grab Malaysia will enable Grab users to use their GrabRewards to donate to NKF and support the fundraising effort.

From Jan 29 until Dec 31, Grab users can visit the GrabRewards catalogue in their Grab app and convert their points into donations.

Every 600 GrabRewards points used will translate to a RM5 donation towards NKF.

NKF CEO Chua Hong Wee said: “The NKF would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all Grab users who have generously donated to our fundraising campaigns over the past two years.

“Even though each dialysis machine has an average service span of eight years or 35,000 running hours, treatment for our dialysis patients is continuous. We are especially grateful to be working closely with Grab once again and hope to generate enough funding for a new dialysis machine to support more End Stage Renal Failure patients.”

Grab Malaysia country marketing head Hassan Alsagoff commented: “We are honoured to be collaborating with NKF once again. This collaboration not only supports NKF’s fundraising efforts for the underprivileged, but also makes it even more accessible for Malaysians nationwide to make a difference and donate directly to the cause.

“The response from Grab users towards this initiative in previous years has truly been inspiring and we are proud that we are able to help drive greater positive social impact through our platform.”

Every year, NKF needs to raise RM26.5 million to subsidise the dialysis patients who are seeking dialysis treatment at the 28 NKF dialysis centres nationwide.
