Young and relevant — the only way to go for hoteliers

More people tend to focus on necessities and essentials as opposed to luxury, which is what to expect when they check in at the Fox Lite Hotel DPulze Cyberjaya

OF LATE, hoteliers have to get even more creative to meet the needs and wants of different individuals who crave for that extra special experience apart from the basics.

Hotels that thrive are usually strategically located, while other details like clean rooms, great facilities and good food are definitely the main selling points that would translate to longevity in the business.

After all, as hotels go through many trends throughout the years, a new wave of hotel guests has also emerged.

More people tend to focus on necessities and essentials as opposed to luxury, which is what to expect when they check in at the Fox Lite Hotel DPulze Cyberjaya.

The First of Its Kind
After announcing its foray into Malaysia, Tauzia Hotels launched its first Fox branded hotel in the country recently.

“The rebranded hotel will bring an intuitive service attitude and relaxed, friendly style to the Malaysian hospitality scene, catering to a new generation of independently minded business and leisure travellers,” the group stated in a press release.

Established in 2001, Tauzia Hotels is no stranger in the hospitality industry as it is known to blend culture in its management style and product development, while promoting diversity.

It currently has a portfolio of 127 hotels in operation and development — ranging from upscale to economy — under numerous brands, including Préférence, Vertu, Harris, Fox, Yello and Pop!

Apart from being a member of The Ascott Ltd, a leading international lodging company wholly owned by Singapore-based CapitaLand Ltd, Tauzia also won Indonesia’s Most Innovative Business Award in 2018 by Warta Ekonomi, further solidifying its label.

The Design, Rooms and Surrounds
The three-star Fox Lite Hotel is strategically located in a commercial and lifestyle development in Cyberjaya, Malaysia’s Multimedia Super Corridor and a global tech hub.

Standing at 10-storey high, there are about 162 chic and contemporary rooms in the hotel

It is a 30-minute drive away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and is easily accessible to KL city centre and Putrajaya, as well as the Sepang International Circuit via major expressways.

The hotel is interconnected to the trendy DPulze Shopping Centre, the biggest shopping centre in the vicinity. Guests are spoilt for choice with plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment options.

Standing at 10-storey high, there are about 162 chic and contemporary rooms in the hotel with a choice of Double or Twin room, featuring modern décor and contemporary furnishings.

Meeting room facilities are also available for in-house guests, making it ideal for single business executives or urban explorers.

“We are excited to bring the brand to Cyberjaya, the Silicon Valley of Malaysia. The Fox Hotels experience delivers what matters to guests with a millennial mindset.

“Our guests appreciate important things done well; demand quality, comfort and value, together with honest, authentic service; and want privacy and efficiency without unnecessary fuss or intrusion,” GM Charlene Chan said in a statement.

Whimsical Inspiration
Simply adaptable, sociable and sensible, the Fox Hotel brand is a segment from Tauzia Hotels that offers midscale hotels with a contemporary and adaptable design.

Customers will notice the “Fox character” that plays a crucial role in the brand’s identity and spirit.

The character was inspired by the fictional persona named Gipsy the Fox, an adventurer who travels across the world to revive hotels by creating a unique, eclectic and vibrant experience.

Chan said the rooms are charmingly decorated with Gipsy the Fox, combined with signature collage artworks and existing mural arts.

“This creates a unique and Insta-worthy ambience throughout the hotel. Prior to the launch, a Cut and Paste: Collage Competition was held in August in search of unique and vibrant artworks to adorn the hotel.

“The collage artworks from winners and nominees are displayed on the guestrooms’ walls as part of Fox’s signature design elements, while the hotel lobby stages the dazzling collage artwork of the main winner,” enthused Chan.

Start with a Fun Run
Upping the ante, the hotel was officially launched during the Fox Fun-Run 2020, the brand’s revival event that attracted more than 250 participants from the community.

The jollification also witnessed Chan handing over special prizes to the three winners of the collage competition.

Aditya Sapta Aji from Indonesia won first prize, while Ain Jadan from Malaysia and Naomi Cassyane from Indonesia placed second and third respectively, outperforming 50 other participants.

“By having Fox Lite Hotel in Cyberjaya, we wish to give a fresh alternative for accommodation choices, with a dynamic contemporary design where guests can enjoy ‘A Moment in Life’, said Tauzia Hotels COO Patrick Vaysse.

“Today’s guests want more flexibility, as busy non-traditional work hours tend to blend the boundaries between business and leisure. With the introduction of Fox Hotels brand to Malaysia, we hope to broaden our range of guests and attract more travellers looking for distinctive experiences of local interest and character, as well as appeal to individuals who want a more independent, yet friendly and personable stay experience,” added Vaysse.
