Bank Rakyat offers financial help to clients affected by virus

BANK Rakyat is rolling out measures to help its customers who are facing financial stress due to the novel coronavirus outbreak by offering temporary relief on their financial commitments.

In a statement, the bank’s CEO Datuk Rosman Mohamed (picture) said the bank’s customers should come forward to reach out for assistance at any of its branches as the bank will be addressing their financial needs accordingly to ensure the continuation of their business.

“We are aware that some of our customers, especially those who are in the entrepreneurship and cooperatives industry, may have been affected due to the nature of their businesses that may require them to travel to some of the high-risk countries from the novel coronavirus.

“Thus, we hope that this initiative will help mitigate the financial consequences of the outbreak. This initiative is also part of our effort to ensure sustainable financing for our customers by managing it effectively in line with our status as an agency of Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.

“We value our long-term relationship with our customers and have always worked closely with them to support their financial needs in different circumstances.

“This is a challenging time for the global community and economy. Our thoughts are with the people who have been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak,” he added.
