MALAYSIA Airlines Bhd (MAB) is all geared up for the Chinese New Year (CNY) festivities, with delicious offerings on board and at its Golden Lounges in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Kuching International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

From Jan 25-31, MAB will be delighting its guests with delectable festive dishes which will be available for lunch, dinner and supper on selected flights to Hong Kong, Daxing (Beijing), Shanghai and London.

Business suite and business class passengers can look forward to an appetiser of yee sang with salmon tataki or jellyfish, steamed cod fish with red date, ginger and shiitake mushroom, or a choice of vegetable balls with ginkgo nut, braised pak choy with mushroom, served with steamed rice as main course.

Economy class passengers will also be able to enjoy an appetiser of yee sang with jelly fish served with a choice of deep fried fish cube with broccoli mushroom and steamed rice, or chicken with sesame sour plum sauce with oriental mixed vegetables and egg fried rice as main dish.

For those visiting the Golden Lounges in KLIA, MAB will be serving sumptuous festive meals prepared by in-house chefs. The lounge will be serving yee sang and vegetable spring rolls, as well as a selection of Chinese-style fried rice, sweet and sour fish, Malaysian curry with potato ginger chicken stew with root vegetables and loh hon chye. For desserts, guests will get to savour mango pudding, pineapple tart, warm red bean soup with dumplings and peanut cookies.

Alongside the traditional yee sang, guests at the Golden Lounge in Kuching can also enjoy the deep fried fish fillet with lemon butter sauce, steam lotus leaf rice and vegetable dish loh hon chye.

Meanwhile in Kota Kinabalu, the special dishes include Szechuan vegetable chicken salad with choices of main dishes such as pineapple fried rice, stir fry seafood and chicken in yam basket, as well as steamed pak choy garlic and mushrooms.

MAB group CMO and customer experience officer Lau Yin May said: “MAB is pleased to offer its guests this seasonal treat in conjunction with the CNY to make their journey a little bit more special.

Serving the festive menu perfectly complements our Fly Malaysia campaign that allows visitors to experience the taste of truly Malaysian cultural heritage dishes, such as yee sang, be it on ground or at 30,000ft.

“Speaking of special, if you are travelling on Jan 23, don’t miss out on the opportunity to catch the God of Prosperity who will be making an appearance at our check-in counters and all three Golden Lounges at KLIA to hand out oranges and chocolate ‘gold’ coins. For those looking to balik kampung or planning for a weekend break, grab our Fú Fixed Fare Festival deals that offer the lowest fixed fares on all economy class seats for selected domestic flights,” she added. The Fú Fixed Fare is available for travel up until Feb 3.

The arirline anticipates high passenger traffic this upcoming long weekend and is advising passengers to check-in online or via MAB app and arrive at the airport early to avoid any delays and long queues.
