RAPID Rail Sdn Bhd and Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, operators of the transit rail system and Rapid Kuala Lumpur (KL) buses, will extend their service hours today in conjunction with New Year’s Eve to fulfil the needs of commuters who will be out celebrating in the city.
This extension involves 13 light rail transit (LRT), mass rapid transit (MRT), monorail and bus rapid transit (BRT) stations and 14 MRT feeder buses. The stations that will be operating until 1.30am are USJ 7, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, KLCC and Ampang Park (Kelana Jaya LRT route); Bandaraya (Sri Petaling/ Ampang LRT route); Pasar Seni, Bukit Bintang, Maluri and Mutiara Damansara (Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT route); Bukit Bintang Monorail and Sunway Lagoon BRT.
Other stations will be operating as per its usual hours. However, commuters can still exit them to proceed with their journeys. Meanwhile for buses, several routes will also be extending their service hours.
Rapid KL urged people to utilise public transportation today to ease traffic congestion.
