A Generous Welcome at the Hyatt House

by LYDIA NATHAN

THE makings of a great vacation or work trip would depend very much on the choice of accommodation, its actual location as well as other peripherals that come with it.

For the busy traveler, a great stay can also mean so many different things, and that would certainly include all the little details that are included in the room.

The more discerning guests would also be very particular about the layout and design. It would also make a huge difference if the bed is covered with luxury linens, a 250-thread count triple sheeting and topped with the duvet to match.

This is what the Hyatt House offers, along with its genuine promise to elevate care so one feels more like a resident.

Its general manager Bennett Peter told The Malaysian Reserve (TMR) a huge part of the brand’s promise is to provide a space where guests want to live, short or long-term.

He said that keeping daily routines going was at the heart of the hotel design, with rooms that are built to facilitate exactly that. To top it all, Hyatt House is also pet-friendly for most household pets.

“It isn’t just a hotel room. You have a countertop to get your work done, a sofa to relax while watching television and a very comfortable bed. Not stopping there, we provide all the services of a hotel too,” he said to TMR.

Hyatt House has been welcoming guests since Dec 1, 2018 with its excellent services and amenities that allow for real-life routines to roll on.

The hotel, which is part of a big complex that sits nicely in the exclusive Mont Kiara enclave, is in the extended-stay segment (ESH), a growing category of the hospitality industry.

Hyatt house offers guests comfortable spaces and places with added benefits including kitchen suites and living rooms for guests who are looking for long-term stays.

Walking into the lobby of the four-star Hyatt House is no different from walking into the lobby of a posh hotel.

The black marbled walls, brown leather chairs, nicely placed potted plants add to the ambience that is enhanced by the sweetly scented air, as the staff warmly greets the guests.

For that artistic local touch, a large painting of Malaysia’s traditional kite, the Wau, hangs majestically against the black walls, a sure sight to behold.

Checking in was quick and efficient. Guests are advised on breakfast times and other facilities available throughout the hotel with no hassle.

Spaces and places

The hotel offers rooms in various sizes, starting from a den room, studio room, a one-bedroom suite and a two-bedroom suite to accommodate the needs of every guest.

In particular, the one studio suite on the 35th floor is very inviting and comfortable with a separate living room featuring a soft grey sectional sofa with coloured pillows for decorations and a colourful painting to complement the white walls.

The living room also has a flat-screen high-definition television offering 118 international channels. It also has a balcony with chairs for guests to enjoy the view.

Part of the kitchen includes a high top table with tall chairs, that can double as a working space or a dining table.

The one thing that differentiates Hyatt House from other hotel is the addition of a fully equipped kitchen suite, which includes a dishwasher, a four-burner induction cooker, a fridge and freezer, microwave, kitchen appliances and utensils.

Complete with kitchen cabinets, the hotel even provides pots and pans for cooking, cutlery, chopping boards and a kitchen towel.

The bedroom, divided from the living area, features a plush king-sized Hyatt Grand bed, set beside a small corner desk with table light and a digital alarm clock.

The bathroom has a separate walk-in rain shower, toilet and vanity area with ample mirrors.

Worth noting is the simplicity of all the buttons and knobs for the lights and air-conditioning unit, which proves to be simple and uncomplicated.

24 hours gym so you can keep your routines

Life Around the House

Located on the 37th floor, the gym is complete with treadmills, training machines and free weight section, all accessible 24 hours using the room cards.

The hotel also has a games room, complete with a pool table, foosball table, a sofa to relax on and a section to read.

Bennett said guests also have the choice to do their own laundry at the 24-hour coin-operated laundry room located on the 37th floor.

“There are machines available for our guests to use, including detergent and fabric softener as well. The prices are the same as doing laundry outside, which our guests enjoy,” he said.

Bennett added that the hotel also features a ‘Borrows Menu’ for guests who forget to bring items like bottle warmers, baby cribs, umbrellas, blenders, rice cookers and humidifiers.

“This is free for our guests, they just have to fill-up the form and return it to us and someone will bring it to the room,” he noted.

Additionally, the rooftop swimming pool, which is an attraction in itself has a fantastic view with a covered area full of sun deck chairs and big enough to do laps.

Munch & Mingle

Meanwhile, the hotel offers free breakfast for all registered guests, starting at 6.30am every day at its all-day dining outlet, the Gallery Kitchen.

The spread features salads, fresh fruit, different types of cereals, as well as bread and pastries that can be toasted to enjoy with other hot food like scrambled eggs, sausages, baked beans, turkey meatloaf and congee with condiments.

An egg station is situated right outside the venue, offering a variety of omelettes – all made to order.

The chef at the station told TMR that instead of the usual omelettes, guests could also try out creative concoctions using different ingredients.

“We will make to order the usual savoury omelettes but we try and make it more interesting. Like today, the omelet of the day is banana with cheese,” he said.

The other food and beverage outlets include the H bar which has a Sip + Snack menu, premium beers and wines and Ten37 Sky Pool bar which is the tallest rooftop bar in the district.

Guests can also buy snacks, sandwiches, and salads from the H Market located in the lobby.
