MALAYSIAN Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) and Celcom Axiata Bhd are collaborating to potentially explore smart building solutions.

The partnership will include 5G connectivity for MRCB’s upcoming PJ Sentral Garden City development.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between both corporations to potentially bring Celcom’s smart building solutions, subsequently 5G connectivity and Wifi 6 infrastructure, as well as fibre deployment to the development.

MRCB group MD Imran Salim said the collaboration with the telecommunications provider will ensure the company’s upcoming projects in PJ Sentral Garden City are designed as a technology-driven and future-ready development equipped with ultra-modern architecture and facilities.

“At MRCB, we believe in setting the standard in everything we do. In today’s progressive market, it is important to bring together the different skill sets that players from different industries can offer to not only enhance our developments, but ultimately add value to our customers,” he said in a recent statement.

The MoU was signed by MRCB’s group CEO Kwan Joon Hoe and Celcom’s chief enterprise business Azlan Zainal Abidin.

Celcom’s CEO Idham Nawawi said the affiliation with MRCB exhibits the company’s progressive journey in advancing societies through its technological capacities.

“It is in line with our ambition to become a prominent Internet-of-Things solution provider in the country and marks another milestone for Celcom as an enabler to large- scale smart city information and communications technology infrastructure.

“This partnership will become a boost for Celcom to continuously inspire Malaysia with our distinctive products and services,” he added.

Additionally, Celcom intends to further collaborate with MRCB to deploy smart building technology with applications of solutions such as smart parking management, smart utilities metering and smart lighting for common areas, connected surveillance, visitor monitoring, and many more.

Connected smart buildings envisioned by MRCB and Celcom will become the essence of PJ Sentral Garden City, catalysing social and economic wellbeing through cutting-edge technology.
