TM ONE, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), recently organised the LEAP Summit 2019 themed “Creative Disruption. Get Ready For It!”

The conference was aimed at reaffirming TM One’s commitment to realise the Digital Malaysia aspirations. It also gave delegates in-depth insights on the industry trends for the coming years as businesses move towards Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) with digital and business transformative solutions.

Commenting about the event, TM One executive VP and CEO Ahmad Taufek Omar said: “Business leaders without a doubt need to embrace creative disruption in order to stay relevant and competitive in the current market landscape.

“For this year’s LEAP Summit, our aim was to share lessons from the successes of global creative disruptors. I’m pleased that delegates walked away with key insights and executable strategies and ideas that they can implement in their own organisation.”

LEAP Summit is TM One’s annual flagship event which brings renowned global speakers and Malaysia’s industry leaders for thought-provoking discussions, ideas and lessons. The event was attended by over 300 delegates consisting of C-Levels and key decision makers of various industries in Malaysia.

The summit featured Dan Cobley, a creative disruptor and former Google LLC’s UK and Ireland MD, as the keynote speaker. Other experts included Malayan Banking Bhd group chief human capital officer Nora Abd Manaf; BFM Radio founder Malek Ali; MIDF Bhd group MD Datuk Charon Wardini Mokhzani and political secretary to the finance minister Tony Pua, among others. They shared in-depth understanding in digitisation, analytics, artificial intelligence and automation innovations that can help create a guided path for business leaders to embrace the digital revolution.

Cobley in his keynote speech highlighted three underlying enablers of innovation — namely changes in regulation, technology and behaviour. He also underscored the importance for large enterprises to find ways to break down traditional organisation structures and allow innovation to flourish, and to equip the people with the right skills and mindsets to be creative and disruptive.

Besides that, all the speakers emphasised on collaboration among industry players in a complete ecosystem, which is key to enable organisations to reap the full benefits of digital transformation. Finally, the panel session deliberated on the essential elements for Malaysia to become a digital nation, highlighting the government’s role to provide the incentives and set the environment for the private sector to drive the Digital Malaysia.

These insights are hoped to benefit businesses that are planning to embark or already embarking with their digital business innovation to stay ahead in the business landscape that is being reformed by rapid technological advances.

Earlier this year, TM One launched 10 transformative smart solutions at enhancing and empowering IR4.0 requirements for industries in Malaysia, making it more productive, agile and future-ready. TM One also launched the Klang Valley Data Centre, which together with the Iskandar Puteri Data Centre, complete its Twin Core Data Centre.
