Marquez claims World Moto2 title, Dalla Porta takes M’sia Moto3

SPAIN’S Alex Marquez of EG 0,0 Marc VDS claimed the Moto2 World Championship title as South African Brad Binder of Red Bull KTM Ajo won the Moto2 race of the 2019 Shell Malaysia MotoGP at Sepang Circuit yesterday.

The 23-year-old Spaniard came in second, 0.758sec behind Binder who clocked in at 38min 07.843sec, while Thomas Luthi representing Dynavolt Intact GP team came in third place.

Malaysia’s Adam Norrodin, however, did not finish the race after being involved in a crash after the fifth lap.

Italian Lorenzo Dalla Porta won the Moto3 race from seventh grid in the 2019 Shell Malaysia MotoGP at the Sepang Circuit yesterday.

The 22-year-old representing Leopar Racing team finished the race in 38min 01.355sec, 0.410sec ahead of Spaniard Sergio Garcia of Estrella Galicia 0,0 and 0.803sec ahead of third-placed Jaume Masia of Mugen Race.

“Yesterday, I told the media I only want to enjoy and try to win the race. And today, I’m simply enjoying it and won the race as well,” said Dalla Porta yesterday.

Briton John McPhee representing Malaysia’s home team Petronas Sprinta Racing was 1.342sec behind the leader to settle in seventh place, while his teammate Ayumu Sasaki of Japan retired after being involved in a crash in the eighth lap.
