AMAL by Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB), the pilgrim-centric service of Malaysia Aviation Group dedicated for haj and umrah, on Monday, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tahira Air Sdn Bhd and Kawan International Travel Sdn Bhd at TH Movenpick Hotel, Sepang.

The agreement was signed between Amal CEO Hazman Hilmi Sallahuddin, Tahira Air CEO Vincent Tan Kee Kim and Kawan International Travel Sdn Bhd chairman Mohd Zahiri Maulud.

Through this partnership, the three parties expressed their intention to connect Muslim and leisure travellers from China to Saudi Arabia via Kuala Lumpur (KL), following the recent announcement by the government of Saudi Arabia to offer tourist visas and visa-onarrival services to more than 40 countries around the world, including China.

Amal, Tahira Air and Kawan International will be offering flights and tours to Jeddah and Madinah from Ningxia, as well as other provinces in China.

Hazman Hilmi said in a statement: “We are delighted to collaborate with Tahira Air and Kawan International to promote Muslim and leisure travel between the People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“Through this partnership, we hope to work together to enrich the experience of our passengers from China travelling into Saudi Arabia. We are also very excited to be extending our Malaysian hospitality to more destinations in China.”

Tan said the collaboration with Amal and Kawan International is a great opportunity for Tahira Air to further promote the demand for inbound and outbound tourism between China, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and beyond.

“KL is strategically located as a transit hub for the movement of tourists and we are pleased to work with Amal towards a seamless journey for our guests within the MAB network,” he added.
