INTERNATIONAL Workspace Group (IWG) has officially launched Spaces, a Dutch office concept in Malaysia, offering versatile ways to work, meet, connect and interact.

Spaces has been very successful in attracting occupants, which is a good way to start here, IWG Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia country head Vijayakumar Tangarasan said.

“We now have 85% of the spaces occupied, so we now have another 15% to go. It has been a great start.

“We do not have any fixed numbers yet but the market in Malaysia has been growing extensively and there are many more market options for us,” he said at a press conference yesterday.

Spaces Platinum Sentral is the largest co-working space in Malaysia, spanning five floors across 6,826 sq m.

Located in Platinum Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, in the heart of Malaysia’s largest and busiest transit hub, it enables members to connect to the country’s major railway lines easily.

“We chose this location for our very first Spaces as it is an international hub for businesses, which also ties back to our commitment to provide creative work environments with facilities that can meet the needs of various businesses,” Vijayakumar said.

This is the first of three planned launches this year, he added. The second launch will be in Penang and the third will be at Menara Prestige this December.

The Spaces office takes inspiration from elegant European architecture, while making full use of natural lighting to emulate the comfort of one’s own home.

Its exposed ceilings and engineered wood flooring are enhanced with customised lights for a lively ambience.

The co-working space houses meeting rooms, business lounges and a café deli to exemplify an open and vibrant place for like-minded entrepreneurs.

With over 250 Spaces locations worldwide, the Platinum Sentral addition is set to expand Spaces’ regional portfolio with more offerings in the future.

Numerous onsite facilities are provided to support business needs such as IT support, a reception, postal handling and printing services.

Spaces harks back to its Amsterdam roots through free-spiritedness, open-mindedness and sophisticated designs to form creative and flexible workspaces.

Since its inception in 2006, Spaces has strived to redefine the way work is done by cultivating a community that prioritises collaborative efforts.

Apart from Spaces, IWG’s portfolio also includes Regus, Signature by Regus, HQ and No18.

The group has over one million workspaces and presence in numerous countries, cities, towns, and transport hubs worldwide.
