PKNS confirms one death in bus crash involving 35 staff in Turkey

The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) has confirmed that one of their staff died in a tour bus accident in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey, yesterday.

In an official statement today, PKNS said the bus was ferrying 35 PKNS staff when the accident occurred around 11 am local time.

“They were on their way to Cappadocia from Pamukkale. One of the staff, Azalan Miswan, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11.45 am, while four others sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Afyonkarahisar Hospital for treatment.

“The rest of them escaped with minor injuries and in stable condition,” the statement said.

PKNS said they were now working closely with Wisma Putra and the Malaysian Embassy in Turkey to bring all the victims home.

Wisma Putra in a statement today also said that a Malaysian was killed and 10 others were injured in the mishap.
