Sime Darby Property achieves RM1b in sales in 78 days

SIME Darby Property Bhd overcame current property market conditions in achieving RM1 billion in sales from its 78-day campaign with 1,127 units sold, thanks in part to the supporting government initiatives, like the Home Ownership Campaign and financing schemes.

“Despite the current property market condition, we managed to pull in sales that exceeded our expectations,” said acting group CEO Datuk Wan Hashimi Albakri Wan Ahmad Amin Jaffri (picture) in a statement yesterday.

He said the numbers clearly showed there is demand for freehold landed quality homes with an attractive price tag, at great locations that are easily accessible.

Its Spotlight 8 campaign, which ran from July 13-Sept 29, offered attractive rebates for existing properties within established and emerging townships across eight locations in the Greater Klang Valley.

Buyers flocked to the locations, namely Bandar Bukit Raja, City of Elmina, KL East, Subang Jaya, Serenia City, Putra Heights, Negri Sembilan and Kajang, to grab the best deals.

Over the 12-week period, the company launched three new projects, namely Kyra and Laman Lakeside in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, and Serenia Arina, in Serenia City, Sepang. It also offered a preview of Aurora, the first “decide the outcome” (dto)-based high-rise project in Subang Jaya City Centre.

dto is Sime Darby Property’s first experiential online platform that will allow potential customers to vote for their preferred development concept, design and amenities of a future property.

Wan Hashimi Albakri said the new projects received overwhelming response with Kyra, the second series in the affordable homes collection, achieving a 95% take up. Laman Lakeside, the RM1.5 million semi-detached and lakeside homes in Bandar Bukit Raja, raked in an 84% take-up.

The launch of Serenia Arina was a success with a 91% take-up, proving that there is demand for property in the Klang Valley.

The company is offering one final weekend of Superdeals on Oct 5-6, and the information is available at
