PROTON Holdings Bhd’s initiative to upgrade more of its service centres nationwide continues with the establishment of a third Proton 3S (sales, service and spare parts) centre in Kuantan, Pahang, which was officially opened on Sept 13.

The outlet, under the purview of Pesat Auto CTM Sdn Bhd, is part of Proton’s emphasis on customer care by addressing sales and service issues in a professional way.

“We understand that listening to customers cannot be an option — it is a priority. The more we engage with the needs of our customers, the better we are able to serve them and solve their problems.

“We will continue to embark on this transformational journey and continue to wow our customers with more upgraded 3S and 4S outlets in place nationwide,” Proton CEO Dr Li Chunrong said in a statement.

To date, the brand has 102 outlets with 3S and 4S status in operation nationwide with sales surpassing previous year’s figure.

Pahang saw an increase of 10% with models like the Saga and Persona remain highly favoured by buyers, while the X70 accounts for 30% of sales in the state.

Pesat Auto director Tee Keh Hock said the outlet would keep customers connected to the brand for the long term.

“A one-stop centre will be a platform that will allow us to fulfil our customers’ requests, and at the same time to expand and broaden our customer base,” he said in a statement.

Centrally located along Kuantan’s main road, the third outlet consists of six bays, four hoists and a built-up area of 750sq m with a total investment of RM2.3 million.

Tee is optimistic that the new centre will boost sales by about 30% and service throughput could increase by 40%.

To date, Proton has managed to stay ahead in terms of sales momentum with 9,127 units sold nationwide in August and a 36% year-on-year growth, making it the highest among the top five brands in the country.

The car manufacturer is anticipated to clock in higher sales by the end of the year.
