MESTECC endorses Power & Energy Series show

The highly anticipated 5 leading energy series will involve 350 exhibitors

CLARION Energy recently announced the inaugural 5-in-1 “Power & Energy Series” featuring Powergen Asia, Asian Utility Week, Distributech Asia, SolarVision and Energy Capital Leaders Asia.

Scheduled from Sept 3-5, 2019, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, the event will gather major players in the power and energy fraternity, with one show covering the whole value chain focused on conventional and renewable generation, to transmission and distribution, to its digital transformation and the financing of the energy transition by industry.

The Power & Energy Series is endorsed by the Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Ministry (MESTECC) and hosted by the nation’s premier power supplier, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

The highly anticipated five leading energy series will involve 350 exhibitors and is expected to draw over 11,000 visitors and 2,000 international buyers, spreading over 22,000 sq m at the venue, for insights on practical strategies towards achieving renewable targets, while addressing the key issues of energy security across the region.

The establishment of the Power & Energy Series is in line with MESTECC’s energy efficiency and renewable energy (RE) initiatives.

Malaysia has a huge potential in RE resources, especially with the new roadmap for energy transition known as the RE Transition Roadmap 2035.

In this regard, the Power & Energy Series creates a good platform to explore the possible strategies and action plan to support the rapid growth of the industry, especially with efforts from private entities to embark on strategies to produce more RE.

Industry players will also be able to keep up-to-date with the latest innovation and technology at the event.

TNB president and CEO Amir Hamzah Azizan said TNB is committed towards collaborative efforts to bring secure, affordable and sustainable energy for all.

“We are pleased to support platforms such as the Powergen Asia & Asian Utility Week 2019, which serves as important touch points for policymakers, industry players and consumers to convene and connect towards viable energy transition solutions,” he added.

According to Clarion Energy portfolio director Asia Nick Rastall, a number of leading events were taken this year and added to Asian Utility Week to form the first 5-in-1 Power & Energy Series.

“Not only will participants benefit from knowledge sharing from different industries, but it also presents unrivalled business opportunities for key organisations within the field.

“This event plays a crucial role in bringing together leading power, energy and utility companies with innovative professionals to drive the changing landscape and discover the future of the power and energy industry in Asia,” he said.

It is strongly supported by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry.

MyCEB serves as a central hub to assist meeting and event planners to bid and stage international business events in Malaysia and acts as a conduit for national product development to all local and international organisers.

Business events are a catalyst for socio-economic growth and help to elevate the lives of the professional and local communities in Malaysia.

Powergen Asia is a plethora of power generation events and panel discussions will witness experts sharing on finance and strategic market issues, Asean’s green revolution, plant performance optimisation, conventional power 4.0 and the power of digital plants for advancing Asia’s generation sector.

Asian Utility Week focuses on utility digital transformation and digital energy efficiency. This event is designed to help utilities do business with the world’s digital technology leaders and to help commercial and industrial customers meet their energy efficiency obligation to save money and improve sustainability programmes.

Distributech Asia will feature many talented professionals and developers who will be sharing on technical strategies to support fast-tracking renewable power integration into power grids and solutions for effectively stabilising standalone power solutions.

SolarVision serves the whole solar power market value chain, from the latest components and cell or module technologies to protect financing and development to installation and operation.

Energy Capital Leaders Asia will discuss energy transition from an investment perspective. This event is dedicated to assisting the financial and investment community to generate change and more value from the opportunities arising from Asia’s shift to renewable energy.

Along with the main events, this electrifying leviathan event will present numerous networking opportunities, seminars and panel discussions.

Also happening are free educational events, exhibitions, panel sessions, knowledge hubs and meet-ups in various locations around the venue.
