WORLD-CLASS banking talents who are competent and knowledgeable will continue to be the key to the success of banks seeking to navigate digital transformation, said Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim (picture).
Against the backdrop of technology revolutionising industries and banks transitioning to a borderless cyber ecosystem, the banker of the future must be agile, attuned to changing trends of the digital era, yet uncompromising in their integrity and professionalism, he said.
According to a statement from AICB, Azman said this in his speech at the third Chartered Banker Conferment and 22nd graduation ceremony in Kuala Lumpur recently.
The event saw the conferment of the prestigious Chartered Banker designation on over 100 eminent bankers.
“The globally recognised Chartered Banker qualification identifies you as a change agent and an ambassador of professionalising the banking industry,” Azman said.
Meanwhile, during the same event, AICB CEO Prasad Padmanaban spoke about the institute’s role in nurturing a future-ready pool of banking talents.
“AICB plays a significant role in building a sustainable pipeline of banking professionals with the right skills and values to remain relevant and competitive in the new banking landscape,” he said.
With over 30,000 members and growing, AICB is the sole professional body for the Malaysian banking industry. — Bernama
