Datuk Shahrul Nazri Abdul Rahim (picture) has been appointed as the Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Bhd’s (Exim Bank Malaysia) new president and CEO effective July 1.
Exim Bank Malaysia chairman Datuk Feizal Mustapha said Shahrul Nazri is a seasoned banker who is ideal for the job with wealth of experience in strategic planning, business performance management and regulatory compliance.
“As the president and CEO of the bank, he will be critical in directing the bank forward as we fulfill our mandate to be the cross-border enabler of choice for Malaysian businesses,” he said in a statement.
Shahrul Nazri has extensive experience in the financial services industry, leading large scale and complex transformation and change programmes, and holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) (Hons) from Anglia University, United Kingdom.
Previously, he was part of the senior leadership team in CIMB Group, supervising group corporate development and international business.
He was also Maybank’s regional investment banking and stockbroking business chief strategy officer, where he was involved in the Kim Eng Holdings acquisition in 2010.
Prior to that, Shahrul Nazri held senior positions in various places including Kenanga Holdings Bhd, Tune Money Sdn Bhd and was a founding member of iPerintis Sdn Bhd.
