Most fashion businesses do not have an understanding on how to grow a business and may require skill-sets in order to be sustainable in the industry, said Omnilytics CEO Kendrick Wong (picture).
He said most fashion brand owners excel in only one aspect of business and to see one succeeding in all areas is rare.
“This is why we launched the Omnilytics Fashion Academy (OFA). The goal is to teach brands how to gain more skills and confidence from the beginning, so they understand all the processes involved,” he told The Malaysian Reserve (TMR) after the launch yesterday.
The academy has attracted some 260 members since its soft launch three months ago.
“With the launch, we are hoping to get more people on board, maybe about 50 from today,” Wong told TMR.
Wong said the fashion academy was developed with the help of various industry experts and supported by leading fashion brands like Zalora, Nichii, Marshmallowscarf and FashionValet.
The OFA will offer 11 modules with over 50 targeted chapters, with more modules to come on board soon, covering various aspects for both new start-ups and existing businesses.
Wong said the modules were written and developed by the industry experts to cover business planning, merchandising, designing, shipping and logistics, operations and more.
“The brands need an overall level of communication awareness of fashion brands so they can share the right tools and skills with their team,” he said.
According to Wong, the group operates by using big data and artificial intelligence to assist their clients which are mostly fashion-based on real-time data.
