Hans Isaac named as Finas new chairman

Act or, producer and director Datuk Gerald Hans Isaac has been named as the new chairman of the National Film Development Corp Malaysia (Finas).

Hans Isaac’s appointment is effective immediately for the next two years, Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said in a statement yesterday.

He succeeds Datuk Samsuni Mohd Nor who served as Finas’ acting chairman in the last four months.

“The ministry hopes that the new chairman will serve to improve Finas’ efforts in developing the industry.

“I also hope that Finas’ board of directors will give full cooperation to Hans Isaac in implementing reforms based on the government’s direction,” said Gobind.

According to the statement, Hans Isaac was a member of the Finas Advisory Board and a member of the Malaysian Film Producers Association in 2012.

He also serves as MD in Social 360 Sdn Bhd, a company involved in the security and insurance businesses.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Singapore Institute of Commerce and a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Stamford College, Malaysia.
