KLCC to use online training for upskilling

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) is using online training to upskill its employees in the food and beverage (F&B) and hospitality fields, with the help of UK-based accreditation organisation City & Guilds and online learning platform GO1.

It signed a memorandum of understanding with City& Guilds and GO1 yesterday to launch the first phase of its training programme in May, where 38 members will undergo various training modules for a year.

The arrangement sees GO1 providing the modules for training, with City & Guilds doing quality checks.

The first phase will cover F&B safety, people management and banqueting skills relevant to the business event industry.

The second phase will start next year and focus on modules such as event coordination, information technology-related competencies, meeting design and setup.
