Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Bhd (Exim Bank) hosted the launch of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Inter-Agency Games 2019.
More than 200 participants from the 11 agencies under MITI will take part in 12 events, starting with a dart and carom competition held at Exim Bank in conjunction with the official launch.
Newly-appointed MITI secretary general Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali was present to officiate the event last Saturday and simultaneously kicked off the first two sporting events at the venue.
Also present were Exim Bank acting president/CEO Azhar Awang Kechil, Exim Bank deputy president of operations Marazizi Omar, Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade) CEO Datuk Wan Latiff Wan Musa and SIRIM Bhd CEO Sulaiman Arshad.
The objective of the sports day is to inculcate sportsmanship among the agencies, strengthen unity and create awareness on the health benefits in taking up sports.
The remaining 10 sporting events will be organised throughout the year — with golf as the final event on Sept 21, 2019. The prize-giving and closing ceremony will be held on Oct 12, 2019.
The 11 agencies under MITI are the Malaysian Investment Development Authority; Matrade; Malaysia Productivity Corp; Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd; Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute; Malaysia Steel Institute; SIRIM; MIMOS Bhd; Department of Standards Malaysia; InvestKL Corp Sdn Bhd; and Exim Bank.
Exim Bank is mandated to stimulate and enhance the competitiveness of Malaysian industries for exports and investments globally via the provisioning of internationally and domestically competitive banking and insurance products, and advisory services.
