Developer Yong Tai chips in for golfers

With Yong Tai Bhd stepping in as title sponsor, competitors enjoyed a close encounter with the property developer’s existing signature achievements and what’s to come.

As the championship had grown to be an event for networking among players, it had given an opportunity for Yong Tai to do the same with what could be seen as some of its best potential customers.

So said its chairman Datuk Syed Norulzaman Syed Kamarulzaman (picture), when speaking at the luncheon and prize-giving ceremony.

He gave an overview of Yong Tai’s existing and future projects in the pipeline in locations within the heritage city centre of Melaka and the heart of Kuala Lumpur (KL).

It had leveraged on Melaka’s UNESCO World Heritage Site for its maiden property development, The Pines, via a joint venture with Melaka-based PTS Properties Sdn Bhd. The 29-storey luxury condominium hotel has been fully completed and sold.

Additionally, the developer was behind The Apple and Courtyard by Marriott, a 32-storey serviced apartment — also in Melaka — and a 16-storey, four-star hotel that will be managed by Marriott.

Yong Tai also launched the award-winning RM7 billion Impression City, a tourism development “out to create an entire ecosystem of hotels, a mall, residences and commercial lots to retain tourists in the area”.

It is a landmark project on a 138-acre (55.84ha) site that has already seen the launches of the Amber Cove serviced apartments and The Dawn condominium hotel.

Currently within the whole development is the acclaimed Encore Melaka, an indoor theatre launched in July last year and featuring a hit, live show highlighting local culture — riding on a franchise of the Impression Series in China.

Yong Tai is expanding its property development to KL’s city centre to build a high-end, low density 10-storey condominium on Jalan U-Thant featuring 108 units, with six different layouts priced from RM1.3 million and built-up areas ranging from 782 sq ft to 1,632 sq ft.

The design is traditional, with a modern twist — dual-key, smart home features and amenities.

Then, in presenting the major prizes to the winners, Syed Norulzaman said: “Just like Yong Tai’s motto ‘Dare to dream, dare to do’, we hope all of you will realise your dreams, on and off the golf course.”
