PNB GCOO retires, new CIO appointed

Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) has announced the retirement of its asset management deputy president and group chief operating officer (GCOO) Datuk Idris Kechot, effective Dec 31, 2018, and the appointment of Hanizan Hood as CIO effective yesterday.

Idris has been with PNB, including Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd, PNB’s wholly  owned unit trust management company, for more than 34 years.

Meanwhile, PNB said Hanizan will assume leadership of the day-to-day oversight of all the operating units within its asset management division, namely fund management, strategic asset allocation, equity market operations, fixed income, investment analysis and economics departments.

Hanizan, who joined PNB in 1996, has served in various capacities in the areas of equity research, money market, fixed income and portfolio management.

An economics graduate from Northwestern University in Illinois, US, she also holds a capital markets services representative’s licence and has recently completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts. — Bernama
