Short-term rates to remain steady on BNM’S operations

KUALA LUMPUR •  Short-term rates are expected to remain steady today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM35.46 billion in the conventional system and RM28.18 billion in Islamic funds.

The central bank will issue a RM12 billion range maturity auction tender for five days to 62 days, a RM8.9 billion Qard tender for six days to 31 days, as well as, a RM500 million reverse repo tender for 31 days.

At 4 pm, BNM will conduct an up to RM24 billion conventional overnight tender and a RM19.3 billion Murabahah overnight tender. — Bernama
