Noripah Kamso appointed as Bank Rakyat’s new chairman

Former CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd advisor Datuk Noripah Kamso (picture) has been appointed as the new chairman of Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) effective immediately.

Noripah replaces Tan Sri Shukry Mohd Salleh, who was sacked from the bank due to his involvement in the tampering of 1Malaysia Development Bhd’s audit report.

Noripah was also the former CEO of both CIMB-Principal Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd and CIMB-Principal Asset Management Bhd.

She is currently a member of the board of directors of BIMB Investment Management Bhd and Top Glove Corp Bhd.

The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development also announced the appointment of its secretary general Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi as a new member of the Bank Rakyat board.

The ministry added that Bank Rakyat’s new appointed members of the board of directors will be announced upon conclusion.
