Western Union has launched online money transfers in Malaysia via its mobile application and website.
Its Malaysia and Brunei regional director Steven Wong Weng Leong said the company is accelerating its digital presence to mirror its retail footprint globally and locally.
“Our customers value us for our speed, convenience, and reliability in serving their money transfer needs – up until now, offered through our wide retail footprint,” he said.
He added its customers still have the choice to access its 2,800 (as of Sept 30) agent locations across the country to send money transfers.
Customers who prefer paying for their transactions in person can choose to commence their transaction on the application and then visit an agent location to complete the transaction more quickly.
Western Union announced a launch transfer fee of 99 sen per transaction via its app or website to commemorate the launch, where customers can send up to RM3,000 per day and fund their transactions online via their local internet banking accounts.
