Another Lion Air jet damaged in Indonesia airport accident

JAKARTA – There were no reports of injuries among the passengers of the flight bound for Jakarta from Bengkulu, Lion Air spokesman Danang Mandala Prihantoro said.

The aircraft’s wing tip crashed into a lighting pole as it was preparing for take-off on Wednesday, Danang said.

Passengers were transferred to another aircraft.

The accident came more than a week after another Lion Air plane crashed into the Java Sea while on a domestic flight, killing all 189 people on board.

The search for the victims and further wreckage continues.
