Minor quake jolts central Myanmar

YANGON – A 4.2-magnitude earthquake Thursday jolted Myanmar’s Magway region, according to a release from the meteorology and hydrology department.

The quake struck at 03:03:59 local time (20:33:59 GMT), Xinhua news agency reported the release as saying.

Its epicentre was 16km west of Salin town in the region and 82km southwest of Nyaung U seismological observatory.

No damage was reported.
