Hazimah appointed chairperson of PUNB

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has appointed Datuk Hazimah Zainuddin (picture) as Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd’s (PUNB) new chairperson.

Hazimah will be replacing former Melaka Chief Minister Tan Sri Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, who stepped down from the position on June 25.

PMO also appointed four new directors for PUNB, effective Sept 24, namely Naqiz & Partners senior partner Syed Naqiz Shahabuddin Syed Abdul Jabbar, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Bank Malaysia Bhd government-linked companies and financial institution department head Zarir Mohd Salleh, JPMorgan Chase Bank Bhd ED Nurjesmi Mohd Nashir and Accenture Malaysia MD Azwan Baharuddin.

The founder and group MD of Hyrax Oil Sdn Bhd, Hazimah sits on SME Corp Malaysia’s business advisory panel.

She also served as a director of the Centre of Entrepreneur Development & Research Sdn Bhd, as well as an ambassador to the Commonwealth Women Entrepreneurs, Commonwealth Businesswomen.

Prior to that, Hazimah served as a director at the Malaysia External Trade Development Corp and Scientex Bhd, as well as the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers councillor and Gabungan Persatuan Usahawan Wanita Malaysia chairperson.
